Wyre Villages

In contrast to the seaside resorts of Fleetwood and Cleveleys and the market towns of Poulton and Garstang, Wyre is also home to a myriad of villages locally known as "Over Wyre"

From the pretty village of Scorton to historic Churchtown and neighbouring Hambleton, Pilling, Knott End and Stalmine each of Wyre's villages has its own individual character.

Explore the area by car, bicycle or on foot or take time to wander round antique shops, village stores and local craft fairs and enjoy the banter of traditional outdoor markets.

The Fylde Country Life Museum allows you to experience life as it was in a bygone era with its old village shop, farmhouse kitchen and post office.

For the more adventurous, visit Tarzan's Adventureland. With exciting trails, giant slides and adventure playgrounds even the most active children will be entertained!  Whilst the children play accompanying adults can visit the bar, browse around the shop or relax at the adjoining pool and leisure centre.

For quieter pastimes Lane Ends Amenity Area situated close to the village of Pilling is an excellent area for keen bird watchers, providing spectacular views of  Lancaster, the Bowland Fells and the Lake District.
All in all, Wyre's villages boast an abundance of tea rooms, country pubs and outstanding restaurants as well as a wealth of leisure and pleasure activities for all the family.

Take advantage of the many facilities on offer or simply relax and enjoy the solitude of the unspoilt countryside.
