- The spirit of good caravanning is based
upon consideration for other "people" Therefore conduct by members, their
families (especially children) and visitors at the Centre events must not be
prejudicial to the good repute of the Centre or the comfort and convenience of
others. In case of abuse, the Caravan Club rules permit Centre Committees to
take disciplinary action.
- Please remember that Event Organisers,
Rally Officers, Centre Officers and Committee Members, indeed everyone working
for the Club at Centre level are unpaid volunteers, who devote a great deal of
their own time and effort to ensure that you enjoy the Centre Activities.
Please in return give them your full co-operation.
- EVIDENCE OF
MEMBERSHIP. Membership cards should be available for
inspection.
- CENTRE REGISTRATION AND RALLY
PROGRAMMES. Members and Centres benefit from Centre Registration.
Rally Programmes are only issued free to those who annually send their "Full
Members"' Registration Cards to East Grinstead. Centre membership records
consist of the current registration cards of both Full and Family members. You
may register with the Centre of your choice, which does not need to be the
Centre in whose area you live.
- If you know of a Centre member who is in
hospital or is seriously ill, please inform the Centre
Chairman.
- Members are reminded of the obligations
which they made when joining the Club, i.e. to observe the Caravan Code and
the Country Code.
- DETAILS OF EVENTS including the booking
form are obtained by sending a stamped addressed envelope at any time to the
events organiser as listed in the programme. Except for events marked with an
asterisk (*) . i.e. rallies lasting more than 3 days or social events the
details will be available NO EARLIER THAN 16 WEEKS prior to the
event.
- BOOKINGS must be made on the official
form and be accompanied by the relevant remittance. The organisers can not
guarantee a plaque for bookings received less than TEN DAYS prior to the
event. It is not policy to acknowledge a booking, except on a specific request
and when a stamped addressed envelope is provided. Only ticket holders can
attend socials.
- CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS. The remittance
less £2 00 administration charge will be refunded on cancellations, more than
10 days prior to the event. Should cancellation be received less than 10 days
prior to the event, the remittance will be refunded less £2.00 administration
charge and any expenses incurred. Should no cancellation be received there
will not normally be a refund. Should different conditions apply to special
events the relevant booking form will state details.

signposted using only official signs displaying the letters
'NLCC'
- DURATION OF RALLIES. With the exception
of rallies on licensed sites, do not approach the Land Owner to extend your
stay Unless otherwise stated, rallies commence on Friday at 4.00
p.m. DO NOT ARRIVE EARLY.
- DRIVERS AND SAFETY A maximum speed of 5
m.p.h. (walking speed) is imposed at all times within the precincts of the
rally and only fully licensed and insured drivers are permitted to drive
excepting that insured learner motorcyclists may drive directly from the
entrance to the caravan they are visiting and later drive out. Ralliers
visitors should report to the Rally Office before venturing onto the
site.
- VEHICLE MOVEMENTS, PUSHING AND TOWING.
In inclement weather, to avoid damage to the field, the unnecessary use of
vehicles must be avoided. When vehicles become stuck ralliers are asked to
come out of their vans and help with the pushing of vans etc. If it is deemed
desirable for caravans to be towed on and off by other towing vehicles,
members must co-operate with the Rally Officers. Towing is undertaken at the
caravan owner's risk and he or she must hitch and unhitch their own outfits to
and from the towing vehicle because of Insurance problems. All towing is
undertaken by unpaid volunteers. Landrovers etc. when towing in four-wheel
drive with wheels occasionally spinning, have incredibly poor fuel consumption
and consequently their owners will be substantially out of pocket, unless they
personally receive (from those being towed) reasonable donations towards fuel
costs for each tow, (as a guideline, the Committee consider £1
reasonable).
- YELLOW FLAG. When the yellow flag is
flown ALL vehicle movement on the rally is curtailed.
- SITING OF CARAVAN AND TOWING VEHICLES.
Caravans must be sited as directed by RALLY OFFICIALS with the front offside
(right) comer of the van positioned over the allocated site peg. The Caravan
Club insists on a minimum of six metres (approx. 20 feet) between facing walls
of caravans, i.e. 27 ft between pegs. The towing vehicle should be parked on
the near side unless otherwise directed by the Rally Officer. Drivers of
additional vehicles should consult the Rally Officer regarding
arrangements.
- TENTS. Pup tents are permissible on
rally fields if required as sleeping accommodation. Each pup tent must be
pitched within the pitched area of the outfit to which it belongs.
- PLAQUES are earned by sleeping in your
caravan at the rally. DO NOT ask for plaques if you have not
complied.
- NOISE from ralliers, parties, radios, T
V 's etc. must be kept to a minimum after 11 p.m.
- SMOKING is not allowed on social events
except on licensed premises.
- WATER TAPS. Toilets and waste water
containers must not be washed at taps used for drinking
water.
- SANITATION, RUBBISH AND LITTER. Members
must provide their own sanitation at all rallies. Chemical toilet contents
must only be emptied in the facilities specified by the Rally Officer Dry or
wet rubbish must be stored and then later taken home unless advised of other
arrangements by the Rally Officer. At all times please keep your rally field
clear of litter.
- GAMES, TRESPASS, PARENTAL CONTROL. Games
must not be played or bicycles ridden to the annoyance of other caravanners
and where possible they should be kept well away from the caravans. The use of
guns, air pistols, catapults etc. are prohibited. Kites must not be flown in
the vicinity of caravans and overhead cables. Ralliers must not trespass or
damage the site owners or other peoples property and PARENTAL CONTROL MUST BE
EXERCISED OVER CHILDREN AT ALL TIMES.
- DOGS AND CATS must be kept under proper
control and on a lead not exceeding 3 metres in length (10 ft). They should
not be allowed to foul in the vicinity of the caravans and whenever possible
should be exercised off the rally field. Rally Officers are authorised to ask
the owner of the animal which is a persistent nuisance or which has worried
lambs or other animals to leave the rally.
- SALEABLE EQUIPMENT Pennants, badges and
other items of equipment are available from the Saleable Club Equipment
Committee Members.
- MOTOR CARAVANS. When the towing vehicle
Is a motorised caravan it must be booked In as a separate outfit if it is to
be used for living or sleeping purposes on the rally.
- FIRE RISKS. Members are advised to
always carry a fire extinguisher and/or fire smothering cloth In their
caravan. These should be regularly Inspected.
- GENERATORS. The personal use of
generators is banned between late afternoon (5 p.m.) and mid morning (10
a.m.). Please also remember that at any time the continuous noise from the
generators engines can cause annoyance and even discomfort, especially to
people with hearing problems (see also Note 1).
- RALLIES IN OTHER AREAS. Rallies
which are to be held outside the North Lancashire Rally Area have to be
cleared with the Centre concerned and sometimes with planning authorities or
National Park Boards. These negotiations may not be complete when this
programme goes to print and it should be understood that venues may have to be
changed or rallies cancelled.
